Post Laminectomy Pain Syndrome

Post laminectomy pain syndrome (aka Failed Back Surgery Syndrome) describes a persistent pain after spinal surgery; such as, laminectomy, fusion, or discectomy. There are multiple possible causes for this sort of pain including: recurrent disc herniation, scarring (or epidural fibrosis), changes in the nerve tissue, or changes in the structure of the spinal column.
